In the ’80s, way before e-mail, then DDB Worldwide Chairman & CEO and now Chairman Emeritus Keith Reinhard used to send through fax a weekly memo, or more like an inspirational note, to employees in all DDB offices around the globe. He called the memo “Any Wednesday” after a 1964 Broadway play.
For over 23 years, through Any Wednesday, Reinhard weekly shared a perennial piece of wisdom surrounding creativity where he expressed his ideas or shared observations that he deemed useful for the people of DDB.
Fast forward to 2020, DDB Group Philippines Chief Development Officer, Craig Lonnee takes inspiration from the legendary Reinhard memos with some musings in a time of unprecedented ambiguity, during the COVID19 lockdowns.
These dispatches were shared via email to DDB Group Philippines employees twice weekly in the form of “TBS ThinkPiece”.
Part of The Bernbach School Online (TBS ON) program, TBS ThinkPiece has been one of DDB Group Philippines’ ways to further adapt to the so-called new normal, where face-to-face lectures have taken a backseat to online learning and discussions.
The audio versions of the think pieces were then later on uploaded as podcast episodes on DDB Group Philippines’ Spotify channel “DDB PH Talks”.
Like the brick-and-mortar programs of The Bernbach School, the integrated agency’s exclusive learning hub and R&D unit, the TBS ON encourages employees to strive towards being even better employees and inspiring managers through heightened awareness of fundamental management and leadership principles.
From June to December 2020, we have archived a total of 52 TBS Think Pieces. And we are sharing all these to you in an e-book compilation for your reading pleasure.
